Prototype L. D. Nimschke Commemorative Dragoon SKU: CAF-885
This commemorative .44 caliber percussion cap pistol was made in the early 1980's for The Heritage Guild. This is the prototype and was engraved by ALVIN A. WHITE, whose company American Master Engravers was commissioned to engrave the limited set of 50.
The frame, barrel, trigger guard bow, and back strap are silver plated and engraved in Nimschke style floral scroll. The hammer, trigger, cylinder, and ramrod assembly are 24K gold plated. All screws are beautifully blued.
The inscriptions were done by ANDREW BOURBON, and a copy of the letter from him to a previous owner is included.
Unlike the rest of the set, this prototype did not come with ivory grips, instead it has traditional wood grips.
Includes a deluxe French fitted blue goat skin leather box with 24K gold leaf by Peter A. Werner of Arno Werner Book Binders.
Matching serial #24491 on all parts.
This gun is un-fired and in mint condition with the exception of a few extremely fine scratches from handling.
