- This knife was custom made for a marine serving in the Pacific Campaign during WWII and is likely one-of-a-kind.
- In 1942 the Marine Corps landed on Guadalcanal, seized the airfield, and renamed it Henderson Field. These marines were given government issued machetes to clear the underbrush on Bloody Ridge so a defense of Henderson Field could be set up. It is possible this machete was used during these maneuvers.
